Planning Application

DA / 2010 / 0402 Outline application for demolition of three agricultural buildings and construction of five dwellings, garages and access at Manor Farm, Main Street, Farthingstone, NN12 8EZ

The chairman opened the meeting setting out that due to the high degree of interest within the village in the planning application for a housing development at Manor Farm, FPC had considered it appropriate to call this meeting.
She briefly set out the ‘Planning Process’ and highlighted the ‘Planning Rules’ which are the policies available through DDC’s website and the village VDS.

The applicant, Harry Brown, was then invited to put forward his proposals. He in turn asked his agent, Bob Sutton of Berry Morris at Banbury to speak on his behalf.

Residents voiced their concerns relevant to the application which included :

This is large scale development out of character of the village
The adverse impact upon local amenities
The potentially dangerous proposed access onto Weedon Road
The fact that the historic north access to Manor Farm was closed as a condition of a former approval
The adverse impact on the already struggling infrastructure
If allowed could set a precedent for future building outside the established confines of this ‘restricted infill village’
The fact that none of the immediate neighbours were consulted before this application was submitted (contrary to applicant’s statement to DDC).
The over loading of already struggling utilities such as mains water, sewage capacity, BT landlines & broadband connections
The fact that no one has complained to any Councillors or the applicant regarding either noise or traffic (contrary to the applicant’s statement to DDC)

The chairman thanked all for their contribution and thanked same for their conduct. The Parish Council will be producing their letter to the Planning Department of Daventry District Council in which reference will be made appertaining to this meeting.

The meeting closed at 8.45 pm
