FARTHINGSTONE PARISH COUNCIL
A Parish Council meeting was held on Monday 18th January 2010 in the Village Hall at 8pm.
Present – Mrs Jennie Miller in the chair, Dr Stephen Batterby, Mrs Susan Castle, Mr John Church, Mr Christopher FitzGerald, Mrs Sarah Hyatt, Mr Peter Stanton and 1 parishioner.

The minutes of the last meeting were read, agreed and signed.
Matters Arising
Future booking is to be made with Rachel Booth to attend a Parish Council meeting for her to explain conservation status within a village. We can then consider protection of important features and possible conservation status in Farthingstone.
Neighbourhood Watch Update
Reminders to all to remain vigilant.
BT Payphone
Further details regarding the adoption of the BT Payphone to be obtained enabling an informed decision to be made at a future Parish Council meeting.
Planning Applications
DA/2009/0855 – Application for Tree Works on TPO at Farthingstone House, Everdon Road, Farthingstone.
Members had no objections to this proposal. Application has been approved and works have commenced.
Farthingstone Village Website
This matter was discussed by all Councillors and the Governance Document was approved . Any user of the website will be asked to agree to the terms in this document. Wendy Francis is now the registered Domain Owner and will be liable for any problems with this new website. The parish Council unanimously agreed to fund the set up costs for this updated site which hopes to go live this Wednesday 20 January 2010.

Correspondence
A letter has been received from E-on regarding the changes to street lights. The use of certain bulbs will be phased out and the possibility of new lights may be needed. PC will monitor the situation.

SB informed the Council that Farthingstone is not included in the plan for housing expansion in the County.
PS raised the matter that the Shepherd Memorial stone in the church yard has moved. This was discussed and PS to ask Paul Justice for a quote to repair.
JM reported that the salt bin that has been requested goes on the Weedon Road as the original place of the Litchborough Road bends now gets gritted.
Some of the new plants in the cemetery are to be replaced by privet. JM to speak to Philip Daynes.
