Farthingstone Village

Northamptonshire, UK

Welcome to Farthingstone

Farthingstone is a delightful small village in the heart of the Northamptonshire countryside. Situated half way between Towcester and Daventry, the village has 79 houses, St Mary’s Church, the Baptist Chapel, The Kings Arms pub and a Village Hall which used to be the school. We also have the Joymead Memorial Garden and Cloister as a wonderful amenity for use by the Villagers.

Harvest Supper Saturday - 15TH oCTOBER 2011

A great attendance of 70 which filled the Hall. The Village had clearly been busy baking, pickling, jamming and harvesting which resulted in a high class auction table. Our auctioneers performed magnificently turning the table into cash for the Hall. The cooks produced marvellous fare with a lovely 3 course meal and chat volume seemed to suggest everyone was enjoying themselves. The Banquet roll on the tables carried some high class art from the children of the Village. Thanks as usual to the Rafflers for giving everyone the chance to win. Great to see some of the village newcomers coming to their first Harvest Supper. Amongst the debutants were some old villagers who attended after 18 years – they evidently did not know what they were missing all those years.

PIVA RENAISSANCE MUSIC CONCERT in the Joy Mead Saturday 2nd SEPTEMBER 2011

PIVA, complete with local boy Tony Millyard and his new hat, performed a very enjoyable concert in ideal weather onditions and were accompanied by various birds in the trees and bats in the belfry as the night progressed. Nearly 100 enjoyed the concert and hopefully will come back for more in the future.
